Insiris is pleased to announce that its Manchester based Data Centres have received ISO27001 and BS25999 Accreditation.
ISO 27001, which relates to information security demonstrates a commitment to providing a high quality and secure service to clients. BS25999 certification demonstrates an organisation's Business Continuity plans are sufficient to continue operation in the event of major disruption.
Dr. Duncan McCaffery, Technical Director explains, "Ensuring our Data Centres are operating to the highest standard is critical for our operations. We already go to great lengths to ensure our systems are fully redundant, operating from three geographically separate Data Centres in the UK." Insiris manages all its service and technical operations from its Manchester based Data Centres, running across three sites with an entire cloned, redundant infrastructure set up at its Disaster Recovery Site.
"Customers are increasingly aware of the storage of data off premise and as an organisation we go to great lengths to ensure the safety and security of our systems, as well as providing high Service Level Agreements", continued Duncan. "The industry is moving toward ensuring service providers have appropriate levels of security and policies in place. BS8484, the British Standard in Lone Working, looks set to incorporate amendments requiring data is stored in an ISO27001 environment. We're please that once again Insiris is ahead of the curve and leading the way".
ISO 27001 (formally known as ISO/IEC 27001:2005) is a specification for an information security management system (ISMS). An ISMS is a framework of policies and procedures that includes all legal, physical and technical controls involved in an organisation’s information risk management processes.
According to its documentation, ISO 27001 was developed to “provide a model for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and improving an information security management system.”
