Safeguard

Safeguard is a pioneering system designed to help keep Lone & Vulnerable Workers and Travellers safe.  Safeguard is available as an application that can be downloaded onto a user's smartphone. Safeguard also supports a number of dedicated lone worker devices, including Identicom.

Safeguard for Smartphones

Safeguard is an App installed on a user's smartphone, designed to enhance a user's safety and visibility.  It is specifically tailored towards Lone Workers, VIPs and Travellers requiring assistance and locating in the event of an emergency.  Safeguard also supports dedicated devices including the market leading Identicom.  The Smartphone App is ideal for those workers facing more infrequent risk and individuals who don't want to carry a dedicated device.

How it works

The App is downloaded onto a user's existing Smartphone: there is no requirement for new device purchase.  Once installed, the device operates in the background, working in conjunction with the Lone Worker Mobile Platform. 

If the user encounters a situation in which they feel their safety is about to be compromised they can raise a 'Red Alert' - either on screen or via pressing a dedicated button on their smartphone. The App makes a voice call to a nominated responder (usually an Alarm Receiving Centre or ARC).  The App utilises the Smartphone's GPS to send the user's current location to the Lone Worker Mobile Platform and, if necessary, ARC. Safeguard may also be configured to send the user's current location at a predefined frequency, detect 'man down' events, leave 'Amber Alerts' and more.

• Red Alert
  Activate a Red Alert to immediately call a nominated responder via a dedicated key, even if a keyguard/lock is employed.
• Amber Alert 
  Integration with ARCs to leave an Amber Alert prior to entering a higher risk situation.
• Amber Alert Timer
  Start a timer which, if left unattended, will automatically raise a Red Alert in the event of incapacitation.
• Location Reporting 
  Report the location to the Lone Worker Mobile Platform using the Smartphone's GPS technology.
• Man Down 
  Detect if a user has encountered a slip, trip or fall and automatically raise a Red Alert to summon assistance.
• Status Dashboard
  Simple, one touch access to common features from the Status Dashboard in the App.
• Easy Install & Over-The-Air Setup
  Easy to download and install, supporting mass deployment via mechanisms like BES; user profiles are automatically downloaded.
• Lone Worker Mobile Platform
  Integrates with the Lone Worker Mobile Platform to provide app distribution, user location reporting on mapping, red alert notification, SMS and e-mail broadcast in the event of a Red Alert, historical reporting and more.
